About Melissa

    Melissa attended Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1998, and a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2002.  She is a 2012 Cum Laude graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. 

   During her time at Cooley, Melissa maintained a place on the Dean's List and won "Book Awards" (given to the student with the highest grade in the class) in Contracts II and Trial Skills.  Melissa also served as a Senior Associate Editor on the Law Review, and participated in Cooley's Client Counseling Competition and the acclaimed Service to Soldiers Program.

   Melissa's employment history includes:
  • Guidance Counselor at Ogemaw Heights High School
  • CASA Director and Contract Counselor at Ogemaw County Circuit Court, Family Division
  • School Success Specialist at AuSable Valley Community Mental Health    
  • Americorps National Service Volunteer at Ogemaw County Department of Human Services
   On a personal note, Melissa enjoys spending time in the great outdoors.  She likes camping, hiking, kayaking, hunting, fishing, and taking road trips.  She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends, and her yellow labrador retriever, Ed.
